The Dean: Dr .Bajes Al-Juneidy

The Faculty of Information Technology was established in the 2010/2011 academic year by the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (221) during its session held on 6/8/2009. Since its inception, the faculty has emphasized graduating professionals in various specializations, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing. These fields contribute to supplying the labor market with qualified specialists in Information and Communication Technology, thereby ensuring the achievement of national institutions’ goals in both the public and private sectors. The faculty conducts regular evaluations of its academic programs, which serve as a necessary mechanism for implementing, monitoring, and improving quality.

The faculty is committed to further excellence by focusing on the practical aspects of the educational process. This approach aims to prepare students to compete in the labor market by equipping them with scientific, practical, and communication skills that enable them to effectively perform their tasks at work. Additionally, the faculty strives to serve the community, contribute to its development, and enhance the national and regional technological infrastructure in the fields of information and communication technology. It also aims to create a suitable educational environment for students and researchers and to improve the quality and efficiency of the services provided in academic programs in achieving their goals and educational outcomes. This includes keeping pace with global developments and ensuring relevance to the local and regional labor market, as well as contributing to societal development.

To create a distinguished scientific and academic environment by offering modern specializations, cultivating creative human resources, and implementing advanced technical systems. This will be achieved by competing in the labor market through the provision of qualified technical workforces capable of innovation and development in IT programs. Additionally, the aim is to direct scientific research toward serving the local and regional community, improving teaching and learning methods, and applying standards of competitiveness and quality assurance through adherence to principles of governance.

  1. Prepare graduates with contemporary knowledge to achieve excellence in Information Technology specializations at the local and international levels.
  2. Graduate students who demonstrate ethical and disciplined behavior, with the motivation and enthusiasm for excellence and competence in work, and an awareness of national issues.
  3. Implement the faculty’s annual plan according to a methodology of periodic academic program review and continuous improvement in alignment with the faculty’s vision and mission.
  4. Strengthen the role of governance councils, monitor their performance and decision-making effectiveness, and ensure their integrity and transparency.
  5. Introduce academic programs that align with developments in the field of Information Technology and meet market needs.
  6. Support and promote scientific research within national research and innovation priorities in Information Technology fields.
  7. Continuously improve student services, enhance the competitiveness of faculty students in the labor market, activate the role of student clubs, and establish effective communication mechanisms with alumni.
  8. Attract highly qualified faculty members.
  9. Foster and strengthen social responsibility.
